Proposal
In this proposal the intended audience for Project IV is: The people of the highland who may have their downspot for rain water connected into the sewer system.
Why should your audience care about the topic and your proposal? The audience should be concerned with the problem because they are directly contributing to the pollution of an otherwise clean and beautiful park. They are directly impacting the health and well being of those who enjoy the many aspects of the park.
One thing I think I did well in my proposal is: show that this is an important topic and that it does have a simple solution.
One thing I am not so sure about in my proposal is: how to transition and make it flow.

Dear Reader,

We all know that Cherokee park is a beautiful place that is enjoyed by the citizens of Louisville of all ages. Although the park and thriving wildlife itself is breathtaking, I think that some improvements need to be made in order for everyone to safely enjoy the many aspects of the park. Currently about I think that some efforts made to improve the combined sewer overflow to prevent them from leaking raw sewage into Beargrass Creek. The city of Louisville should do a better job in preventing this from happening because it could be harmful to the health of the visitors to the park. I interviewed Weston and he said that MSD currently has a project called Project WIN where the city officials and MSD workers are trying to disconnect the downspouts from surrounding homes of rainwater that lead into the sewer system to prevent overflows. This is something that should be made into public knowledge and implemented in an urgent and timely manner.
Thank you,
Jill Jones

  1. 1. From this proposal the intended audience seems to be people going to the park and people that live in the highlands.
    2. The topic is the problem of sewege overflow and its affect on people visiting the park and people that live around the park.
    3. The focus of this proposal is that you think that improvements need to be made regarding the sewage system. This needs to be done in a timely manner so everyone can enjoy the park.
    4. People who should care about this topic are park goers, residents affected by the sewage system, and the people responsible for the sewage systems in the city. They should care because this subject affects many people. Also, noone wants to be in danger of having dirty water. That would make the city look really bad.
    5. The writer makes me care about the sewage problem in Cherokee, by stating, "The city of Louisville should do a better job in preventing this from happening because it could be harmful to the health of the visitors to the park." You pull the reader in by stating how this problem can be harmful to people in general. It makes the audience truly care about fixing the issue.
