Black men in public spaces

Starting near the bottom of page 260, Staples begins to talk about what other people think when they first see a young black male and how that alters their perception of reality. Says that everyone thinks that all black  men in new york city are all muggers. He integrates the quote by first introducing the writer of "My Negro Problem- and Ours," Norman Podhoretz. He then summarizes the quote and presents the important information. The information is relevant and useful in the development of his  validity as a writer.Previously he has presented his thesis and main argument, so this quote is used to show supporting evidence. Based on the reading, i believe that although he does not use the standard template in the introduction and explanation of this quote, i still believe that he uses this effectively and it strengthens the paper itself.
